This LED strip utilises high-quality Epistar SMD3528 LED chips, offering a brightness output of 360-420Lm/m, ideal for cove lighting or applications where high brightness isn't essential. If a higher brightness solution is required, we recommend checking Hi-Line's SMD2835 LED strip series for more powerful options.
The strip provides excellent colour rendering (CRI Ra >80), ensuring accurate natural white lighting at 4000K. It can be cut every 6 LEDs (10cm) and has a width of 8mm for flexible installation in tight spaces. It features original 3M adhesive tape for secure mounting, identified by a red protective strip on the adhesive side.
IP54/65 Waterproof Protection: Protected by a high-quality clear heat-shrink tube, our IP65 protection offers better durability and transparency compared to the older PU coating method. This ensures the strip remains clear, flexible, and well-protected throughout its lifespan, even preventing yellowing after long-term use. When installed in an aluminium LED profile, the IP65 rating can last for over five years. For more demanding environments such as UK winters or areas prone to flooding, IP67 or IP68 rated strips are more suitable. However, for indoor use, we recommend IP00 rated strips for ease of installation.
Important Installation Advice: Do not connect more than 10 metres of this LED strip in series, as it may lead to PCB damage due to excess current. If you need to extend beyond 10 metres, connect the additional strip directly to the LED controller or driver using a 2-core cable.
The strip is pre-fitted with 15cm wire endings on both sides, making it easy to divide the roll into two segments (e.g., 3 metres + 2 metres) without additional soldering. We recommend soldering for the best connection, but if using connectors, ensure they are rated for the correct current. For this IP65 model, use IP00 non-waterproof connectors and consider adding our specialised silicone sealant for added protection. This can be found in the 'Related Products' section.
All Hi-Line LED strips are dimmable with a suitable PWM LED dimmer/controller. This model is compatible with a wide range of dimmers and controllers, ensuring smooth dimming.
